Netflix has shown incredible confidence in its original fantasy series The Witcher, and for good reason. The Witcher has become the streaming service’s highest-rated series, dethroning the previous king of Netflix, Stranger Things. Before season one even premiered, season two had already been approved, and following that same pattern, Netflix has greenlit the third season as well.
Ever since Game of Thrones ended (although I’m still in denial of the final episode), fans of high fantasy have been itching for a new binge. Not just us honorable geeks, but even the commonfolk were begging for more. Then came The Witcher to the rescue, and we got all we needed and more.
We still have time until season two, scheduled to premiere in 2021. In the meantime, I’ll be reading through the series, humming the catchy tune: “Toss a coin to your witcher, Oh valley of plenty…”
